UK rap duo Sixty5 are hard-hitting, emotive storytellers who use their lyrics to express relatable life struggles and pain. Forming in late 2021 after previous solo artistry, their first body of work “Cold Hearts EP” was released in 2023. Sixty5 soon went on to feature on BBC’s The Rap Game UK Season 5, where they showcased their talent to some of the UK’s biggest rap artists and producers, the likes of Krept & Konan, Chip, M Huncho, Mist and more. Sixty5 have since built on their Rap Game UK success, gaining over 1 million streams across Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube. Released in early 2023, their most streamed single to date is "Real Raptors", closely followed by "Not The Same' released in late 2023.
Sixty5 is formed of two brothers, born and raised in the East Midlands city of Derby, Jacob Deas born in 1998 and Ethan Deas born in 2002, grandsons of Roderick Sinclair Deas, former member of the chart-topping 70’s band Showwaddywaddy. Growing up the brothers found inspiration from their grandfather’s legacy and began to create music as solo artists J Deas and LDee. Eventually they decided to come together, combine their talents and individual sounds to become the duo Sixty5 in late 2021. Unfortunately, they experienced grief from a young age with their father being absent and their grandmother passing away before they were born, Sixty5 use music as a source of therapy to alleviate any past trauma, resulting in a deeper emotional connection to their audience which sets them apart from their peers.
Sixty5 made their first appearance as a duo on the UK rap channel P110, freestyling on the rap series ‘On Smoke’ in 2021. In early 2022, Sixty5 quickly gained traction on TikTok for their raw real rap freestyles amassing hundreds of thousands of views, cementing themselves as real rap artists. This led to their next single release “Real Rapstars” showcased on Ellie Prohan’s show on Kiss FM, singles such as “Letter To 65” and “The Come Up” followed shortly after. Sixty5’s first body of work “Cold Hearts EP” was released in October 2023, creating a significant buzz amongst their fans before announcing their appearance on the country's biggest rap competition The Rap Game UK. The unique family bond of Sixty5 brings the undeniable chemistry, which is prominent throughout their artistry, a standout observation made during The Rap Game.
Sixty5 worked alongside LR Loose to create a soundtrack for BBC and Netflix’s series “Champion” starring MOBO award nominee’s Malcome Kamulete and Deja J. Bowens. Sixty5 triumphed, their single “Loyal” went viral and was selected to be used as part of the series’ promotion, whilst also making appearances on DJ’s Target’s show on Radio 1xtra. In March 2024, Sixty5 were invited to represent Derby on DJ Targets 'Touchdown Tour' where they performed their single '3Am in the 3' live on Radio 1 xtra.
